The Hopkins Charitable Fund in Cambridgeshire
As we continue to expand beyond our traditional heartland of Suffolk and Norfolk we are proud of our increasing number of developments in Cambridgeshire and were selected to create the gateway development at Alconbury Weald.
We are committed to not only building much needed new homes but also to helping build strong, cohesive communities. As a result of the recent expansion of the Hopkins Charitable fund we are now in a position to support more of Cambridgeshire’s charities and groups.
We will distribute grants and donations from the fund through small grants announced twice a year and a charity vote which is run once every two years, as well as a number of other avenues. We have also committed £10,000 a year across the region for the conservation of East Anglia’s war memorials.
The first Cambridgeshire Charity of the Year vote was run in 2016. Over 2,300 local residents took part, each voting for their favourite of the six shortlisted charities. The vote was won by The Bobby Scheme which received the top donation of £7,000 with the Ely Foodbank and Huntingdonshire Area Money Advice Service receiving £2,000 and £1,000 respectively.
In Cambridgeshire the fund is administered by the Cambridge Community Foundation, charities should contact them for information about the next round of grants and to register their interest in being considered for funding.
